School is always in the way!!

Hey hey readers, well thanks for all the views from yesterday. It makes me super happy to see all those views that I have gotten. So, I thank all of you who are becoming faithful readers of the #PotterPride blog here. Well shall we get to one of tonight's posts?

Harry had school, Hogwarts. You have school (well maybe you do?). I have to go to school yet. Well I think we all at one point in time have said, "Darn school, you always get in my way of reading a Harry Potter book, or watching a Harry Potter movie!' Am I right? Well, maybe you didn't say it just like that, but it would have to be something in that general field am I right? Well I want to talk about this! Last night I said in my post I was possibly going to do another Blog Post right? Well darn school had gotten in my way, AGAIN! I had final things to do, as I finish school next Monday! Yeah though, I can remember way back like maybe a year or two ago when I was trying to read the Harry Potter series . . . again, and I couldn't because I had school work, or something school related to do so I couldn't read the books or it could have been the movies. Do you know what I am saying though? School always has got to get in the way for something to do with Harry Potter. A couple of times (for like a release of a new HP movie) I will schedule a day off of school so I can get work ahead of time so I can go see a Harry Potter movie, like Deathly Hallows Part One, at midnight. Have you ever had this problem though? Email me with experience's you have had where you want to do something Harry Potter related, but school just got in the way. I am sure Harry Potter had problems with school interfering with something he liked to do. Ah yes, Quidditch. Remember in the books he would have Quidditch Practice, and school homework would always go get in the way?

Well I am hoping you enjoyed this post. I know it was kind of short and maybe not the greatest, but school is getting in my way (Finals for me start tomorrow). I will try and do a better one tomorrow night, or maybe one later tonight (no promises though yet). Thanks for reading though, and I hope you enjoyed.

43 more days . . .

Well hello readers! WOW, thanks for all the views! #PotterPride is just becoming bigger and bigger everyday. I am hoping that you are spreading the word about it, and so far it seems like it which I am highly grateful for. Well, before I get to this Blog Post I want to tell you all that their will be another post tonight possibly, and if their is it will be online a little later than usual (just in case you were wondering). Well lets get to this post shall we?

Last week I released a Blog Post about the fact that their is only 50 more days until "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two!" Remember that post? I created a celebration sort of thing, in which we do things every night that are Harry Potter related! I had set up things for a week, up till yesterday! Well, today I am going to release tonights and this weeks plans for the 50 day celebration countdown. Of course their are not 50 days left anymore (their are 43) but we are still going to celebrate right down till the very end! I read SS up to where I am supposed to, made a Potter Recipe, and all of the other things! So what are going to be on this week's celebration tasks? Well tonight I want you all to finish SS and continue onto COS (get finished with Chapter One at least). Then for Thursday night, lets go ahead and watch "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire." Why that one? Well why not that one is a better question! For Friday lets play some chess in honor of Ronald. Saturday is to read to at least Chapter Six in COS. Then on Sunday it is up to you what you wanna do. Take a break from the celebration, read some more (gives you a chance to catch up), or find something else to do that is Harry Potter related. For on Monday, lets actually where a Harry Potter themed t-shirt all day, and if you are still school then at school (if you do not own one, go out and buy some markers and a white t-shirt and make a t-shirt). Now finally for Tuesday lets read up to Chapter 11 in COS. You can of course read on the other days, and such but by Tuesday be on Chapter 11. Well I think that is a good list. I will of course release the next weeks tasks on next Wednesday. So how did you do with last weeks tasks? Are you excited for this weeks? Remember there are only 43 more days left until that fateful day we are all dreading, and at the same time SUPER excited for.

Well hoping that you enjoyed this Blog Post. I am also hoping that you all will do these tasks, as I have been doing them too! If you ever need to know what to do for a night, just log on to #PotterPride here and I have the list in the right-hand column to remind you what to do! Well thanks for reading everyone, and I am hoping that you will continue to show your #PotterPride.

Book One, Chapter One Excerpt

Hey hey readers, well like I had promised here is #PotterPride's very first Book Excerpt from the book series that we all love. Remember though that I personally do not own any of the rights, I am not the creator of this. Jo Rowling is and her publisher Scholastic are the one's who have the legal rights to what is about to be written below in this post. I am hoping that you will enjoy!

HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE

CHAPTER ONE:
THE BOY WHO LIVED
(starts on page one)

Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn't hold with such nonsense. Mr. Dursley was the director of a firm called Grunnings, which made drills. He was a big, beefy man with hardly any neck, although he did have a very large mustache. Mrs. Dursley was thin and blonde and had nearly twice the usual amount of neck, which came in very useful as she spent so much of her time craning over garden fences, spying on the neighbors. The Dursleys had a small boy called Dudley and in their opinion there was no finer boy anywhere. The Dursleys had everything they wanted, but they also had a secret, and their greatest fear was that somebody would discover it. They didn't think they could bear it if anyone found out about the Potters. Mrs. Potter was Mrs. Dursley's sister, but they hadn't met for several years; in fact Mrs. Dursley pretended she didn't have a sister, because her sister and her good-for-nothing husband were as unDursleyish as it was possible to be. The Dursleys knew that the Potters had a small son, too, but they had never seen him. This boy was another good reason for keeping the Potters away; they didn't want Dudley mixing with a child like that. When Mr. and Mrs. Dursley woke up on a dull, gray Tuesday our story starts, there was nothing about the cloudy sky outside to suggest that strange and mysterious things would soon be happening all over the country. Mr. Dursley hummed as he picked out his most boring tie for work, and Mrs. Dursley gossiped away happily as she wrestled a screaming Dudley into his high chair. None of them noticed a large tawny owl flutter past the window. At half past eight, Mr. Dursley picked up his briefcase, pecked Mrs. Dursley on the cheek, and tried to kiss Dudley good-bye but missed, because Dudley was now having a tantrum and throwing his cereal at the walls. "Little tyke," chortled Mr. Dursley as he left the house. He got into his car and backed out of number four's drive. It was on the corner of the street that he noticed the first sign of something peculiar - a cat reading a map. For a second, Mr. Dursley didn't realize what he had seen - then he jerked his head around to look again. There was a tabby cat standing on the corner of Privet Drive, but there wasn't a map in sight. What could he have been thinking of? It must have been a trick of the light. Mr. Dursley blinked and stared at the cat. It stared back. As Mr. Dursley drove around the corner and up the road, he watched the cat in his mirror. It was now reading the sign that said Privet Drive - no, looking at the sign; cats couldn't read maps or signs. Mr. Dursley gave himself a little shake and put the cat out of his mind. As he drove toward town he thought of nothing except a large order of drills he was hoping to get that day.

Well I am hoping that you enjoyed that Book Excerpt. Did you? Email me and tell me if it was too long, or maybe if I should make them a little bit longer (email me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com). Don't expect these too often, maybe once or twice every other week. They are a lot of work, and I enjoy writing actual posts. Well hope you enjoyed though, and thanks for reading #PotterPride.

Butterbeer is . . .

Well hello readers, I see everyone has been enjoying #PotterPride here. It has been about two weeks since the beginning of #PotterPride, and I already have 100 page-views! I cannot begin to express how much this means to me, and how much it keeps me blogging for all of you faithful readers. Well like I said here is another Blog Post, and it is about the wizarding drink from Harry Potter that we are all familiar with, Butterbeer. Lets get to it then shall we?

So yesterday was supposed to be the day I was supposed to make a Harry Potter recipe for the, 50 day countdown celebration to "Deathly Hallows Part Two." I did not have the ingredients though so I could not make, and review it for all of you yesterday on here. Today though, that is a little bit different story. I had gotten the ingredients today and prepared it just about an hour ago. Well what do I think of it? Hm . . . . . I didn't like it all to much. Had a weird taste to me, but I could have made it wrong from the recipe that I had. I am hoping that it will be different at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter when I go their in about 36 days. I dunno it just tasted kind of gross to me, but maybe it is just tastes I do not like? I do not know for sure. I am of course going to try and make other different type of Butterbeer, and of course I will post a review of them on here. I said though I would give you this recipe for the Butterbeer I drank. Well here it is (and please note the this recipe does not make the above picture):

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup (8 oz) club soda or cream soda
  • ½ cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
  • ½ tablespoon butter
Directions:
Step 1: Measure butterscotch and butter into a 2 cup (16 oz) glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.
Step 2: Stir and cool for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit.
Step 3: Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm Hogwarts treat for two!

Well their is the recipe for the Butterbeer that I had made tonight, so you should go out and get the ingredients and try it for yourself. You might like it? Let me know what you think of it though please (email me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com). Plus if you know any other recipes for Butterbeer that you like please send those so I can try them out too.
Well thanks for reading this everyone. I am hoping that this post makes you go out and make your own Butterbeer. Remember though it is not alcoholic as it is received in "Half-Blood Prince" (which was another thing that had kind of disappointed me). Thanks again though for reading, and all the views you have given me!

P.S.
Please help me and submit your first Harry Potter memory that you have to help with the Potter Experience book I am working on to show #PotterPride. Submit them to my email address: noahmarkbitney@gmail.com.

Help is needed!!!

Hey hey readers. Sorry about last night, and not getting a blog post online. I was busy watching a Harry Potter Movie, and then tried to do a Blog Post but fell asleep while writing. So, instead today I am going to do three posts! This one, a recipe blog post (which means I am making some food from the Harry Potter world and trying it to tell you how it is), and I am also FINALLY going to do a Book Excerpt. So should we get to this blog post?

Okay so so on my other Twitter account (@hpfan7) I talked about something big, that is coming with the #PotterPride blog here.Well I need some help with this big thing, which is why I have a help sign for this Post's Image. Well what is the big thing? . . . . . . . . . Well before I get to that I want to ask you for help. What do I need help with? Well if you would be willing to tell me, I would like you to email me (at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com) with you very, VERY, first memory of Harry Potter. What I mean by this is to email me with the very first thing you can remember about the Harry Potter world, and how it became a part of your life. How did you first get introduced to it? Did a friend tell you about it? Where you seeing a movie in theaters and a trailer pop up for it, and you were like, "That looks awesome"?!!! How were you introduced to the boy who lived? To submit your memory, just email me with it at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com please. If you do send this to me, I will use this anonymously in what I am planning to be a BIG thing one day when I finish it. What is this big thing though, you are all wondering right? Well I am working on a book actually. I don't the exact name exactly for it yet, but I am going to have it about the Harry Potter experience. It is going to start out with a whole bunch of experiences of how Harry Potter started in people lives, and then going to go through my life with my Harry Potter experience. On how a simple series changed my life drastically, and defines who I am today in the world. So yes please I need to help with this, so if you would please send your first Harry Potter memory to me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com. I would greatly appreciate it. I promise to not use anyone's name's at all. Please trust me. I will be asking for more help though later on, as this BIG thing is a work in progress. So please just help me a little, as we all are Harry Potter fans together (#PotterHeads), and we all love the Harry Potter world.

Well thanks for reading. I know this post really isn't about Harry Potter a lot, but it is at the same time because in the end it will show the world how Harry Potter has changed the lives of millions. So please help me by sending your memory. Thanks again, and thanks for reading you faithful readers.

P.S.
I didn't have ingredients for my recipe last night, but I got them late last night so I should be making it tonight! What did you make?
