Book One, Chapter One Excerpt

Hey hey readers, well like I had promised here is #PotterPride's very first Book Excerpt from the book series that we all love. Remember though that I personally do not own any of the rights, I am not the creator of this. Jo Rowling is and her publisher Scholastic are the one's who have the legal rights to what is about to be written below in this post. I am hoping that you will enjoy!

HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER'S STONE

CHAPTER ONE:
THE BOY WHO LIVED
(starts on page one)

Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn't hold with such nonsense. Mr. Dursley was the director of a firm called Grunnings, which made drills. He was a big, beefy man with hardly any neck, although he did have a very large mustache. Mrs. Dursley was thin and blonde and had nearly twice the usual amount of neck, which came in very useful as she spent so much of her time craning over garden fences, spying on the neighbors. The Dursleys had a small boy called Dudley and in their opinion there was no finer boy anywhere. The Dursleys had everything they wanted, but they also had a secret, and their greatest fear was that somebody would discover it. They didn't think they could bear it if anyone found out about the Potters. Mrs. Potter was Mrs. Dursley's sister, but they hadn't met for several years; in fact Mrs. Dursley pretended she didn't have a sister, because her sister and her good-for-nothing husband were as unDursleyish as it was possible to be. The Dursleys knew that the Potters had a small son, too, but they had never seen him. This boy was another good reason for keeping the Potters away; they didn't want Dudley mixing with a child like that. When Mr. and Mrs. Dursley woke up on a dull, gray Tuesday our story starts, there was nothing about the cloudy sky outside to suggest that strange and mysterious things would soon be happening all over the country. Mr. Dursley hummed as he picked out his most boring tie for work, and Mrs. Dursley gossiped away happily as she wrestled a screaming Dudley into his high chair. None of them noticed a large tawny owl flutter past the window. At half past eight, Mr. Dursley picked up his briefcase, pecked Mrs. Dursley on the cheek, and tried to kiss Dudley good-bye but missed, because Dudley was now having a tantrum and throwing his cereal at the walls. "Little tyke," chortled Mr. Dursley as he left the house. He got into his car and backed out of number four's drive. It was on the corner of the street that he noticed the first sign of something peculiar - a cat reading a map. For a second, Mr. Dursley didn't realize what he had seen - then he jerked his head around to look again. There was a tabby cat standing on the corner of Privet Drive, but there wasn't a map in sight. What could he have been thinking of? It must have been a trick of the light. Mr. Dursley blinked and stared at the cat. It stared back. As Mr. Dursley drove around the corner and up the road, he watched the cat in his mirror. It was now reading the sign that said Privet Drive - no, looking at the sign; cats couldn't read maps or signs. Mr. Dursley gave himself a little shake and put the cat out of his mind. As he drove toward town he thought of nothing except a large order of drills he was hoping to get that day.

Well I am hoping that you enjoyed that Book Excerpt. Did you? Email me and tell me if it was too long, or maybe if I should make them a little bit longer (email me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com). Don't expect these too often, maybe once or twice every other week. They are a lot of work, and I enjoy writing actual posts. Well hope you enjoyed though, and thanks for reading #PotterPride.

Butterbeer is . . .

Well hello readers, I see everyone has been enjoying #PotterPride here. It has been about two weeks since the beginning of #PotterPride, and I already have 100 page-views! I cannot begin to express how much this means to me, and how much it keeps me blogging for all of you faithful readers. Well like I said here is another Blog Post, and it is about the wizarding drink from Harry Potter that we are all familiar with, Butterbeer. Lets get to it then shall we?

So yesterday was supposed to be the day I was supposed to make a Harry Potter recipe for the, 50 day countdown celebration to "Deathly Hallows Part Two." I did not have the ingredients though so I could not make, and review it for all of you yesterday on here. Today though, that is a little bit different story. I had gotten the ingredients today and prepared it just about an hour ago. Well what do I think of it? Hm . . . . . I didn't like it all to much. Had a weird taste to me, but I could have made it wrong from the recipe that I had. I am hoping that it will be different at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter when I go their in about 36 days. I dunno it just tasted kind of gross to me, but maybe it is just tastes I do not like? I do not know for sure. I am of course going to try and make other different type of Butterbeer, and of course I will post a review of them on here. I said though I would give you this recipe for the Butterbeer I drank. Well here it is (and please note the this recipe does not make the above picture):

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup (8 oz) club soda or cream soda
  • ½ cup (4 oz) butterscotch syrup (ice cream topping)
  • ½ tablespoon butter
Directions:
Step 1: Measure butterscotch and butter into a 2 cup (16 oz) glass. Microwave on high for 1 to 1½ minutes, or until syrup is bubbly and butter is completely incorporated.
Step 2: Stir and cool for 30 seconds, then slowly mix in club soda. Mixture will fizz quite a bit.
Step 3: Serve in two coffee mugs or small glasses; a perfectly warm Hogwarts treat for two!

Well their is the recipe for the Butterbeer that I had made tonight, so you should go out and get the ingredients and try it for yourself. You might like it? Let me know what you think of it though please (email me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com). Plus if you know any other recipes for Butterbeer that you like please send those so I can try them out too.
Well thanks for reading this everyone. I am hoping that this post makes you go out and make your own Butterbeer. Remember though it is not alcoholic as it is received in "Half-Blood Prince" (which was another thing that had kind of disappointed me). Thanks again though for reading, and all the views you have given me!

P.S.
Please help me and submit your first Harry Potter memory that you have to help with the Potter Experience book I am working on to show #PotterPride. Submit them to my email address: noahmarkbitney@gmail.com.

Help is needed!!!

Hey hey readers. Sorry about last night, and not getting a blog post online. I was busy watching a Harry Potter Movie, and then tried to do a Blog Post but fell asleep while writing. So, instead today I am going to do three posts! This one, a recipe blog post (which means I am making some food from the Harry Potter world and trying it to tell you how it is), and I am also FINALLY going to do a Book Excerpt. So should we get to this blog post?

Okay so so on my other Twitter account (@hpfan7) I talked about something big, that is coming with the #PotterPride blog here.Well I need some help with this big thing, which is why I have a help sign for this Post's Image. Well what is the big thing? . . . . . . . . . Well before I get to that I want to ask you for help. What do I need help with? Well if you would be willing to tell me, I would like you to email me (at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com) with you very, VERY, first memory of Harry Potter. What I mean by this is to email me with the very first thing you can remember about the Harry Potter world, and how it became a part of your life. How did you first get introduced to it? Did a friend tell you about it? Where you seeing a movie in theaters and a trailer pop up for it, and you were like, "That looks awesome"?!!! How were you introduced to the boy who lived? To submit your memory, just email me with it at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com please. If you do send this to me, I will use this anonymously in what I am planning to be a BIG thing one day when I finish it. What is this big thing though, you are all wondering right? Well I am working on a book actually. I don't the exact name exactly for it yet, but I am going to have it about the Harry Potter experience. It is going to start out with a whole bunch of experiences of how Harry Potter started in people lives, and then going to go through my life with my Harry Potter experience. On how a simple series changed my life drastically, and defines who I am today in the world. So yes please I need to help with this, so if you would please send your first Harry Potter memory to me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com. I would greatly appreciate it. I promise to not use anyone's name's at all. Please trust me. I will be asking for more help though later on, as this BIG thing is a work in progress. So please just help me a little, as we all are Harry Potter fans together (#PotterHeads), and we all love the Harry Potter world.

Well thanks for reading. I know this post really isn't about Harry Potter a lot, but it is at the same time because in the end it will show the world how Harry Potter has changed the lives of millions. So please help me by sending your memory. Thanks again, and thanks for reading you faithful readers.

Noah Bitney

P.S.
I didn't have ingredients for my recipe last night, but I got them late last night so I should be making it tonight! What did you make?

Great but then not so great . . . .

Hey hey readers, how are all of you doing? Well I am sorry about not getting another post up last night, but  I just had some other things I needed to do. I am here today though to get a couple of more posts out for all of you, which I think I will be doing so make sure you check back in a little while later, or just follow me on Twitter (via @PotterPride07). So lets get to today's first post shall we?

November 21, 2008, was the set date for the release of the sixth film in the Harry Potter film franchise, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." I remember first hearing the news from one of my friends that they had pushed the date of this films eight months back, to be released on July 17th, 2009. They said they had heard it on the radio. I did not believe it, I had just bought a magazine about it coming out in November, but then I logged onto my favorite Harry Potter fansite, and their it was saying that Warner Brothers had changed the date of the release of this film to July of 2009. I was royally ticked off by what I had found out at first, then it came to me, maybe they are going to try and make it better than it was. Maybe they were going to fix things. So, then I thought maybe this is going to be worth the wait. Maybe this is going to be the best Harry Potter film SO FAR. So a couple months before they release it on the 17th of July, they decide to bump it up to Wednesday. I am like, okay fine that doesn't bother me. I can just see it a lot sooner than I thought I was going to. So, I changed the date on my countdown, and waiting for July 15th. The day came then, I had seen the film at midnight and I was amazed! I thought it was the best film so far, but then I went to see it a second time and that was it. It wasn't as good as I thought it was. It is almost like the 5th movie in disappointment range (will talk about that later). I would have to say that the sixth film is my second least favorite out of all of them, of course behind the fifth film. Why? Well for starters it is way off the book, there were a bunch of things missing that I was looking forward to in the film, and the fact that they still added a scene in the film but cut things out. I was looking forward to seeing a great film since they made us wait and extra eight months, but nope they (Warner Brothers) did not deliver. I mean yeah it is still a great film, just a disappointment in general though. What do you think though? Did you like Half-Blood Prince? Email me and let me know at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com.

Well thanks for reading everyone. Not my best post really I think but that is up to you to decide. Remember to check back in later though for more posts, and thanks again!

The last note . . .

Well hey #PotterPride fans. Thanks for continuing to view #PotterPride, I am working hard on trying to keep it updated. Before I get into tonight's Blog Post, I wanted to say thanks for viewing #PotterPride first of all, but secondly I wanted to let you know that I am trying to add some new features to the blog. So if you see anything weird looking on the site for the next few days just remember that it is because I am working on some new things for the blog. Well now lets get to this Blog Post shall we?

John Williams, he was the very lucky first composer of the Harry Potter films. He did the first three films but then left the franchise forever. We hoped he would come back for the final films, but Alexandre Desplat took his place. After "Prisoner of Azkaban," Patrick Doyle took the place of composer for the Harry Potter film, "Goblet of Fire." He only stayed on for one film in the series, then Nicholas Hooper took the stand of Composer for the next two films. Which finally brings us back to Alexandre Desplat. John Williams will always be my favorite composer (so far) of the Harry Potter films, but Alex took second place with his score from "Part One" of Deathly Hallows. He also took the spot as my favorite song from the entire Franchise's soundtracks, "Godric's Hollow Graveyard" (first used to be "A Window to the Past" from POA. This though is not really what I am here to talk about really. What I wanted to talk about was some news that was released today. Today, I found out that the last note in the Harry Potter franchise was recorded for "Part Two" of Deathly Hallows, composed by Alex. As a fan of the Harry Potter soundtracks this got me really really moved and saddened. I mean yeah I know I said that their really is no such thing as the end for Harry Potter, but it is just sad to hear the news that the final note was officially recorded for the final film of the Harry Potter Franchise. It has been ten years, and now it is all coming to a some-what of an end. The really is no end, it will just be a whole new beginning. Anyway though, yes, as you might have known (from Potter's Army) I am a fan of the music from Harry Potter, well ironically this happened to fall in line with tonight's 50 countdown celebration event, listen to some music from the Harry Potter soundtracks, which I am actually doing right now. Are you a fan though? Are you sad by hearing this news that the soundtracks are done being made? Were you a fan of them just as much as I was? Email me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com with what you have to say about this topic please. So yes today was the final day for people who worked on the music for the films, their last day for which they have been working on this music for all of us for over 10 years.

Well thanks for reading everyone. I am hoping that you enjoyed this blog post. I know I enjoyed writing it, as I always do plus I love talking about the music for the Harry Potter films! Well I might be doing another Blog Post tonight so make sure you check back in everyone! Thanks again though for reading.

Noah Bitney

P.S.
Have you been doing the 50 day countdown celebration? Need to know what to do next? Look to your right in the column and whatever today's day of the week is, is what is assigned to do! Hope you have fun.

Your Harry Potter Experience . . .

Hey hey everyone! Sorry about the lack of posts just haven't had time but I am doing my best to get some new posts out as soon as I can! So shall we get straight to it???

Well as you might have already noticed that this post is a little different there is no picture from the Harry Potter world standing in front of it right? Well I was on a site, and I found this video I would like to put in here instead so watch it below here, then I will get into today's Blog Post for #PotterPride:

Okay so what do you think of this video??? I was completely inspired by this video. Like it just completely captured my heart when I saw this (which was on a fansite called MuggleNet). I was just completely shocked by the video. I wanted to though show it to all of you in case you have not already seen it. Plus though, I also wanted to incorporate it into a Blog Post because it is a really good topic to talk about. Yeah sure the video is asking the actors how they could describe the Harry Potter experience in one word, but they are not the only ones who lived the Harry Potter experience are they? We as fans created this experience for them, so I want to ask you if you can describe your Harry Potter Experience in one word? Can you? Email me (at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com) with your word, or even leave a comment in the comment section below with you word (just do it as anonymous no your real name). You can also @reply to me on Twitter, (Just @reply to @PotterPride07 with your word). What is my word though right? What word would I say about my Harry Potter Experience right? Well the word I want to say, is that my Harry Potter Experience was Phenomenal! It changed my entire life into who I am today, and I am very grateful to have it in my life! That was a hard choice to pick what word, but I think I found the right one. I was going to pick between that word, Unforgettable, and Magical. What is your word though, let me know?

Thanks for reading everyone, hope you think extremely hard about what word you would use to describe it. I did think about it for like 30 minutes. So anyway I should have another post up later today actually, and I am thinking of doing a Book Excerpt so make sure you check back in later. Thanks again though, I hope you continue to enjoy #PotterPride!

50 days of "Deathly Hallows Part Two"

Hello readers! So as you have noticed #PotterPride has already changed in it's look. Why? Well I have been working super hard on getting a look for #PotterPride to look just right. Well, I found it earlier today, and now here it is for all of you to enjoy. I felt like the old design was a little bit cluttered and hard to read in some spots. I am just hoping that this one is better. Well I am not here to talk about that am I? Let's get to tonight's Blog Post shall we?

Well it is only 50 more day left. 50 more days left till what? Well just take a look on the side bar here. What is only 50 days away? YES, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two" is only 50 days away! Why is this a big deal? We have already said that this does not mark the true end to the Harry Potter Series. Well I am deciding to do a what you could call, a task, a task in which I am going to do some Harry Potter themed thing everyday for 50 days. Watch Harry Potter films, read the books, listen to some soundtracks, play some video games, or even act some things out. Their are a whole bunch of other things you could do. Email me, and submit what you think we could else do for this wonderful event. Well I am going to only plan up to a week. So next Wednesday I will do another post on #PotterPride here for the next weeks schedule on what to do each night to celebrate the counting down days left till "Part Two." If you ever get an idea for what we could do in a week, make sure to email me that idea (at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com) so I can incorporate it into the next weeks activities. So for this week's activities (this starting tonight and ending tuesday night): for tonight read the first five chapters of Sorcerer's Stone. Tomorrow night you will want to either play Lego Harry Potter The Video Game, or if you do not own it another game Harry Potter related. Friday night, well I am going to be doing an all night Harry Potter Movie Marathon into Saturday, but you can either continue to read SS or something else Harry Potter related (I will leave that night up to you). Saturday night read up to Chapter Ten in SS. Sunday Night, just spend a night listening to the soundtracks from the Harry Potter films, and if you do not own one I suggest you go out and buy one! Monday night, hm well find a Harry Potter themed recipe and make the food you found (for example ButterBeer). Then lastly for the planned nights, Tuesday you should read up to Chapter 14 in SS. So how do all those activities sound? Easy and fun right? I am going to try and do them all how about you?

Well thanks for reading everyone who does. I hope that you will follow me in the countdown to "Deathly Hallows Part Two!" It should be a lot of fun right? Thanks again though, and see you back here tomorrow for another Blog Post.

What would you ask her???

Hey readers, thank you for the continued support from you all. I am really enjoying doing this Blog for all of you to enjoy! It is great to hear that you all are re-visting the site to read more posts. So, I will keep up my end of the deal, and try and get them out their for you to read. So is this a Book Excerpt? No! I am sorry, but Book Excerpts take forever to write and are a lot of work to do! I will be doing one soon though along with other kind of posts here on PotterPride. So shall we get to this blog post though?

J.K. Rowling, the creator of the series that we all love very dearly. The author of the books that have brought us together, the Harry Potter series. If it wasn't for Jo, you would not be sitting in front of your computer, iPod, iPad, laptop, or phone right now reading this blog post. You would be doing something else entirely. So, firstly I want to thank Jo for all that she has done, and all she has written for us Harry Potter fans to enjoy for years and years into the future. That is not what I want to get into exactly though tonight. I might some other post later on, but right now I want to talk about something else about one of our favorite author's. I want to ask her a question. Just one question, yes I have millions to ask her, but just one here on this blog post. BUT I want you to either leave a comment, tweet me (follow @PotterPride07), or even email me (at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com) with your question for J.K. Rowling. Just one question though, even though you might have hundreds of them just think of the one burning question that your really want answered by the creator of Harry Potter. Well hmm . . . I think I would ask her this question: Why did Dobby have to die? I have always wanted to know the answer to that question because that was the death that shocked me most out of the series was the death of the house-elf that we all loved very dearly. Now your turn! What would you ask her? I am thinking of even writing a letter to her with all of our questions attached, so make sure you submit them to me by the end of the week.

Well thanks for reading. I am hoping that you will put a lot of thought into the question you want to ask J.K. Rowling. I know I had a hard time finding which question I really wanted to ask, because I have so many to ask her. I narrowed it down by wanting to know something that I always wanted to know from the end of the books. Well thanks again for reading though, I am hoping that you enjoyed this post. Make sure you keep checking back for more!!!

What is up with Warner Brothers?

Hey readers. Tonight is finally going to be the night where I am going to do a Book Excerpt for #PotterPride here. So make sure you tune in tonight for that, but for now let's focus on this blog post right?

Yesterday on Twitter, Warner Brother's Twitter Page for Harry Potter, released it's second poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two. Yesterday was Monday the 23rd of May, 2011. Today the Tuesday of May, 2011. Well today Warner Brother's Harry Potter Twitter Page released another poster, which you can see above this post. Can I just say WOW! This is another EPIC beyond EPIC poster for "Part Two." But I am asking myself this one question, what is up with Warner Brothers? I mean by this, it is the second day in a row that they are releasing things for Harry Potter. They are teasing us aren't they? I mean it is still 51 days away until "Part Two" and here they are teasing us with BEYOND EPIC poster's. I love them, I cannot wait until Part Two. I believe that today and yesterday aren't going to be the only day's that they are going to release things for Harry Potter. I am guessing that they will be releasing new things for "Part Two" all week. Like maybe more posters, but at the end of this week I think they might be releasing a full-length trailer for "Part Two." Yeah we already have a trailer, but that one wasn't a theatrical trailer it was a teaser trailer. So maybe we will get a new one, but I think also I am getting my hopes up their. Who knows though right? All we can do is wait and see what Warner Brothers decided to do. So lets wait patiently for the movie right? We know it really won't be the end, but we want to just take our time and wait slowly for the final film.

Thanks fans for reading. Remember to come back on tonight for the first Book Excerpt of #PotterPride. Thanks again!

Are you going to buy it?

Well hey readers! Sorry about the lack of a Blog Post in the past few days. Like I said in my first post on #PotterPride here I am only going to blog when I can. This means to not expect a post everyday, but I will try and do one as often as I can! So lets get to it shall we?

Well as you might have noticed when entering the site here, that their is a new background image on PotterPride here. Well Warner Brothers, Harry Potter Film twitter account released a new poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two!! You can of course see the image above or in the background here on the website. Well my initial first thoughts on this poster are WOW!! EPIC, EPIC poster they have made again. What is it with Deathly Hallows that has made Warner Brothers making some Epically awesome posters. First with Part One, then a couple of months ago they released the first one for Part Two, and that one was just as EPIC as this one. Then, they released this one today! All I can really say is just wow, I AM GOING TO HAVE TO BUY THIS!!!! Its just what they use in the poster that just grabs my attention! I still have yet to buy the other Part Two Poster, but now I am planning on buying the both of them, as they are both probably going to be worth it. What do you think of the poster though? Are you going to buy it? Email me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com with your thoughts on this poster! Were you surprised that they released one or what? Let me know. I will let you all know when/where you can purchase this poster! I am already trying to find a site where I can buy it. I will make sure to let you know when I do find one.

Well thanks for reading. I know this is a shorter post, but I wanted to just get this one out their for all of you too read something. I am thinking about doing a Book Excerpt late tonight, so make sure you check back later tonight for that. Thanks again though for reading!!!

Favorite book except . . .

Hello readers. How are all of you doing? Sorry about the fact that I didn't have a chance to get a blog post out yesterday for all of you to read. I was busy with some things, but now lets get to this blog post shall we?

Ah, well the Harry Potter phenomenon was made famous by the books that Joanne Rowling has written for all of us to enjoy over and over again over the years. Well I know this is a very hard, and extremely unfair way to judge these books, but I am going to try and give you the reasoning behind my favorite Harry Potter book, except for Deathly Hallows though. I am pretty sure almost all of the Harry Potter fans favorite book is the Deathly Hallows book. So before I tell you my reasoning for my favorite Harry Potter book, I want to ask you to decide for yourself. Email me at, noahmarkbitney@gmail.com, with your reasoning to your favorite Harry Potter book. . . . . except of course Deathly Hallows.

So my favorite Harry Potter book besides Deathly Hallows is Order of the Phoenix. I am pretty sure that you all have guessed that by the above image. Well, something most people will say too is "WHY?" I have heard through lots of research and fan-based websites, that OOTP is everyone's least favorite book. I have no idea why though. I love this one! So, I am going to give some reasons why I love this one more than the others, besides DH. Well I love OOTP because it is a longer book. It has a lot more information in it than any other of the series. Most people say this is the reasoning why they hate it, but I LOVE IT! Why? Well it gives the reader a more personal look at the life Harry really does live inside Hogwarts. We learn more about Hogwarts and the students inside than we have ever learned before, and I just love that so much. Reason number two is because of the plot line. I love the idea of the whole book. Jo, of course, did an amazing job with the story of this book. Reason number three is that it such an enjoyable ride through the whole read. I could, if I had the time, read it all in one night. Just stay up all night long reading this amazing book. I dunno about you but it is my favorite book, and I am #PotterPride about it. What is your favorite book though? I know it is super SUPER hard to choose a favorite book though. Something, though, got me attached to this one and it is just my favorite one. So make a hard decision, and email me to about what your favorite book is. Make sure you also include why it is your favorite. You could see it here on #PotterPride.

Well thanks for reading everyone. I hope you enjoyed reading this post, as much as I enjoy writing them for you. Make sure you spread the word about this blog around, show it to your other Harry Potter fan friends. We all have #PotterPride deep-down inside, and this site is how we are going to show it! Thanks again everyone.

"Dobby is still treated like vermin!"

Hey hey everyone!!! Thanks for all the page views from yesterday, means a lot to me. It keeps me blogging for you loyal fans. I know their is one out their who has followed all my projects for the perfect Harry Potter web fan base (or what ever you wanna call it). Just want to give a big thank you to all of you who follow have followed me in this quest for the Harry Potter fan site that we all can enjoy. Well now lets get to another blog post shall we?

"Dobby sir! Dobby the house-elf." We all know who he is right? Well I better hope you all do if you are on this site! Dobby, I would have to say is closest to my favorite creature. I think he takes third on that list, but more of that in a later blog post. What I wanna talk about is Dobby! What about him do I wanna talk about? Well we all know that house-elves are under a magical, sorta, bond that keeps them connected to their master. They all love their masters, and they would not do anything to disobey them. An example of this is, Winky! Remember her from the fourth Harry Potter book, Goblet of Fire? She was completely devastated when Barty Crouch gave her clothes. She liked to work for her master. Another example of this is all of the house-elves in the Hogwarts kitchen's! They would never ever say anything bad about Dumbledore. They loved to cook food all day, clean the castle all night, and when Hermione suggested that they fight for some rights, they all looked at her in a weird way right? They like to work, but what about Dobby? He hated working remember? He think he is "still treated like vermin" when technically they, all the house-elves, are always and have always been treated that way. Mind, Dobby, was probably treated a little bit more like vermin than the rest of them because look who is owners are. I just don't understand why he is the only house-elf that doesn't want an actual master. Even look at Kreacher. Look who his masters were. They were just like the Malfoy's, but yet he still loved working for them. So why is Dobby not wanting a master to work for? Sure he is beaten and punished for doing things wrong, but aren't all house-elves treated in some-what the same way? I don't mean to sound harsh or anything, but I am just curious about this. I was thinking today about what to do a blog post on, and this came to my mind and I am just intrigued by it. Do you have any thoughts on why Dobby is the way he is? Email me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com with your thoughts if you have any please. I would love to hear what you have to say. I want to add this before I leave too, why is he the only house-elf to be happy when he is showed clothing? Please any ideas on any of the questions I asked email me at my email.

Well, thank you for reading. I am hoping that you enjoyed that email. I hope also that it got you thinking because I surely got me thinking about it today when I thought of this for tonight's post. So, for tomorrow night's post I think I am going to do a Book Excerpt, which usually means I will have two posts tomorrow. That means MAKE sure you check back in here tomorrow for more posts. Thanks again for reading PotterPride, I am hoping that you are enjoying it.

"The End" will never truly be here!!!

Hello readers, well for my very first "original" blog post I thought I would do it about the film that we are all looking forward too, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two." We all know that one of the promoting lines that they are using is, "It All Ends!" You can find it on the first official poster for this film. Well I want to talk about a correction that I must make to this statement, "It All Ends!" So lets's get straight to it shall we?

Well the film "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two" is coming on July 15th, 2011. We are all waiting for the final with with much anticipation right? I know I am! I cannot wait to see the final part of the final book be put to the big screen. Are you excited for the final film. I am excited, but at the same time scared, plus a little bit of sadness. Why? Well, they keep saying this is the end, the end of the Harry Potter Phenomenon. Technically it is the end. In my eyes though, it is not the end at all. It is a whole new beginning for Harry Potter. Yeah sure, all the books are done, and now the films are coming to an end. That doesn't mean it is the end. We are just going to pass this great phenomenon that has captured the world, and bring it to the next generations. We are loyal fans of Harry Potter, and of course we are, "one day" going to be reading these stories to our kids. They will be watching the movies because we will want to look back at our childhood. Not only that, but I think one day that these books are going to go down in history as a classic book that all children will read in schools. "The End" as "they" call it will never truly be here. It is just going to be a different generation of kids reading and watching these amazing stories that have been brought to us by the one and only J.K. Rowling. Like I said though, technically yes it is the end. Truthfully in my heart though, I don't and will never see the end of Harry Potter. I still have to books to read forever and ever to my hearts desire. I can be 30 years old, see the Harry Potter book on the shelf, wipe the dust off the front, open the book, and then be swept away again by the magical story that has been written for us to enjoy for many MANY years to come. So, is that really the end to this phenomenon? No, it is not! It just won't be having anything new for us to see in it anymore. Sure I probably have read the books over 50 times, but that will never stop me from re-reading them. They are just way to good to not read, and be swept away by the magic within.

So do you agree with me? Do you agree with what I say by this not really being "The End?" Email me at noahmarkbitney@gmail.com with your replies or just leave a comment below! I encourage feedback. Remember even send your own Blog Post for PotterPride here, I would love to put it online here for other Potter Fans to read! Well thank you for reading this post, and I am hoping that you enjoyed it. There will be possibly longer ones in the future. For now I am just getting back in the flow of blogging. So remember though, it really it's the end, as long as we as Harry Potter fans are loyal to the things we have loved most for over 10 years. Thanks again.

#PotterPride is what we have

Well, welcome to the PotterPride Blog! If you have been following me on twitter (@hpfan7) you will have heard about PotterPride here. Well welcome to the blog, that is now finally out here for all of us Harry Potter fans to enjoy and interact with. This first blog post is going to be about features that are going to be included in the blog, which you will also have to interact with too. Then, after this blog post I will start getting into some of my regular blog post (which means like my one's from Potter's Army [if you remember Potter's Army, or experienced it]). There will also be posts in which you can try and write your own blog post for PotterPride. So, lets get to talking about some amazing features that are going to be included in this blog shall we?

Alright, so lets start with some basic stuff. Hm, well every blog post will have an image to give you a general idea what it is about. Their will be blog post that are excerpts from the Harry Potter books that we all love very dearly (I just stress the fact that I do not own any of the rights to the book, it all is under the copyrights of the publishers of Jo's amazing work). I will do reviews of Harry Potter merchandise that I buy over the months and years. I will do PicPost, which of course I will explain later when one comes up! I will ask you if you follow PotterPride on Twitter (@PotterPride07) to do a PicPost. You might remember a PicPost from Potter's Army. Their are a bunch of other kinds of Blog Post's that I am going to do I will explain them though when they come along. I might even add new ones over time. Now lets talk about the media bar to your right. Well as you can see their is a trailer for the upcoming "Part Two" film! Well that is only updated when their is a new one released! When "Part Two" is released it will be a Trailer of the Day, sort of thing so we can go back in time and remember when it all began. The countdown is probably self-explanatory. Um, the slideshow right now is just of "Deathly Hallows Images, getting ready for the upcoming film. Once that is over it will be updated as I find more and more images with Images from the Harry Potter world. The music now . . . . . I thought this would be a nice touch for the fact that we all love Harry Potter, and now we can just picture the movies in our head as we read about something Harry Potter on PotterPride. If you want to shut it off, just hit the pause button, and the music will stop for you. I will add more music later on, just so you know. Later on I am going to be adding a feature for quotes from Harry Potter, but I haven't had time to get that ready for you all yet. Just thought I would inform you off that. Now the follow #PotterPride by email thing is when you sign up, every time I add a new post to PotterPride here it will notify you by your email, cool feature? Well please let me know! The things I am leaving out are probably pretty self-explanatory.

Now, the last thing I want to talk about before I leave is, why did I create this blog. Well I am pretty sure you all are wondering the same question. Well I started out with a blog at one point, Potter's Army. I wanted to take it further, so I created a real website called Post-Potter Depression (PPD). Well I soon realized that it was way to much work for me, and hard for me to keep it updated for you all. I also missed just my regular Blog Posts. I know you all did too. So I thought I could create two in one. I have begun that process, but I will yet be taking it even further. Just give me time to get this PotterPride blog ready for that. For now it is just going to be Blog Posts, and what I have on here now. The theme, like background and stuff, will change every month to match something! I am hoping that you will enjoy #PotterPride with me, and interact with it as we all use this blog to show our Potter PRIDE.
